Man United held on to their lead admirably in the first half, leading 1-0 at the break.
After an hour, Cristiano Ronaldo extended the home side’s lead from the penalty spot. Raphael Varane put the game out of reach just 11 minutes later, as the Red Devils earned a well-deserved 3-0 victory at home.
Let’s take a look at how each Manchester United player played against the Bees.

During the 90 minutes, the Spanish goalkeeper made a couple of vital stops at the back and did a good job of keeping the opponents at bay.
Diogo Dalot (RB) – 7/10
On the defensive end of the field, he did a good job when called upon, but he couldn’t make an impact in the final third.
Victor Lindelof (CB) – 7/10
Lindelof made a few vital clearances and did enough to ensure a clean sheet.
Raphael Varane (CB) – 8.5/10

He was strong in the air and performed admirably when defending inside his own half. Telles has also been credited with an assist for his efforts.
Scott McTominay (CM) – 7.5/10
McTominay did a great job anchoring the middle and making a couple of interceptions. In the Brentford half, he was very active.
Nemanja Matic (CM) – 7/10
The Serbian defender did a good job of protecting his backline, but he didn’t contribute much in the final third. He came off to a round of applause from the home fans.
Anthony Elanga (RW) – 7/10
Elanga wreaked havoc on the opposition and was credited with an assist for setting up Fernandes’ goal.
Juan Mata (CAM) – 6.5/10
The Spaniard displayed flashes of brilliance, but not enough to score.
Bruno Fernandes (LW) – 8/10
Fernandes was a major menace in the opponent’s half, scoring an early goal that set his team up nicely for the rest of the game.
Cristiano Ronaldo (ST) – 8/10
The Portuguese striker caused the Brentford center-backs a slew of problems and held his cool to convert his spot-kick in the second half.
Cristiano Ronaldo has scored more Premier League goals at Old Trafford this season (14) than any other player has managed at any stadium.
