Premier League giants Manchester United will play host to League Two outfit Colchester in the quarterfinal of the League Cup at Old Trafford.
Both clubs have had different ways of reaching to this stage, with Colchester United having participated in each round till date, defeating Swindon Town 3-0 in the first round of the competition and then knocking out Premier League duo of Crystal Palace and Tottenham consecutively on penalties before dispatching fellow League Two outfit Crawley Town 3-1 in the Round-of-16.
However, on the other hand, Manchester United entered the competition in the Third Round by virtue of their higher standing in the top flight and needed penalties to defeat League One club Rochdale before eliminating Premier League rivals Chelsea with an impressive 2-1 victory at Stamford Bridge in the Round-of-16 of the tournament.
Ahead of the game, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does have a few injury concerns to worry about as long-term absentees Eric Bailly (knee), Paul Pogba (ankle), and Timothy-Fosu Mensah (ACL) are still ruled out until the end of the year, while Italian defender Diego Dalot (ACL), and Marcos Rojo (muscle) could be in line to make an appearance having recovered from their respective injuries.
