Manchester United vs Everton – Man United Predicted Lineups | EPL 2020-21

Manchester United are very confident after the 9-0 victory against Southampton at Old Trafford and are placed second in the Premier League table. The Red Devils welcome Everton next up as Solskjaer will look to pile the pressure of Manchester City who are table toppers. Ancelotti’s Everton are a good side as they started the season flying high, but have slumped in the table in the past couple of months.

In the last game against Southampton, Pogba was dropped but McTominay stepped up well and even scored a screamer. Solskjaer will surely go with his strongest possible side against Everton as the Merseysiders can beat any side on their day. The selection of the starting XI will be a problem for Solskjaer as almost all of the United players have performed well in the recent past proving their mettle.

Let us now have a look at how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer might set his Manchester United side against Everton in the Premier League.

THE 4-2-3-1

The 4-2-3-1 will be an ideal choice for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer against an Everton side who play with the same system. This system has worked very well for Manchester United as Fred and McTominay have taken their games to a whole new level which has helped their fellow Red Devils. The choice between McTominay or Pogba will be a tough one for Solskjaer as both the players have excelled in the box-to-box role.

The return in form for Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood will be great for Solskjaer and a warning sign for the oppositions. Both the players are likely to start the game as United have been great down the flanks in the past few games. Edinson Cavani will most probably start the game against Everton as well because his form in front of goal has been much better than that of Martial.

Either of Eric Bailly or Lindelof might start alongside Maguire as both the defenders have impressed, but it seems as Lindelof is the first-choice defensive partner for Maguire according to Solskjaer.

THE 4-4-2 (DIAMOND)

The 4-4-2 (Diamond) formation has also done wonders for the Red Devils this season as the squad has a lot of good midfielders. Pogba and McTominay both have played very well and seem to be undroppable at the moment because of their form. Fred cant be replaced in the starting XI because of the tenacity he brings to the United side.

After a barren streak of five games in the Premier League, Bruno Fernandes scored a goal and also provided a couple of assists against Southampton. His creativity will be the key for the Red Devils to unlock a sturdy Everton defence which is commanded by Yerry Mina. Rashford and Cavani have worked well in tandem and Solskjaer will hope that they flourish in the system.

THE 3-5-2

The 3-5-2 is arguably the only other system used at Manchester United under Solskjaer, who has used it against sides with great attacking flair. Everton do have a good attacking lineup but United should deal with it as they have been misfiring in the recent past. Solskjaer will be expected to take all three points as keep the title race on against the noisy neighbours, Manchester City.
