Manchester United FC finished the Premier League season on a high, after finishing in the third spot of the league. The Red Devils are now setting their sights on the Europa League, which is United’s last chance to win silverware this season. United face LASK in the second leg of the Round of 16 tie after a 5-0 lead in the first leg.
The Red Devils thrashed five goals past LASK in what was the club’s last match before the lockdown. The tie is well and truly over as there is little chance of LASK scoring five against United. The Red Devils are expected to play a weakened side throughout the Europa League to rest their main players after a tiring league season.
The last time United faced LASK, in March, Ighalo, Mata, Greenwood, Pereira and Dan James were all on the score-sheet. The Red Devils have been in excellent form since the restart and look deadly when in possession or on the counter. LASK haven’t been in the best of forms since the restart and have only won thrice out of their 12 games.

Luke Shaw hasn’t played a game after getting an ankle injury against Southampton last month in the Premier League. Last week Solskjaer informed the media about Shaw’s injury and that he will miss the rest of the Europa League games. But Axel Tuanzebe and Phil Jones are still injured and will probably miss the tournament as well, after missing games previously.
United will reportedly give chances to players who didn’t feature enough in the Premier League since the restart. The likes of Jesse Lingard, Scott Mctominay, Fred, Odion Ighalo and Fosu-Mensah are being tipped of getting rare starts. LASK also might play a second team because they don’t have a realistic chance of winning this tie against the mighty Red Devils.
