Manchester United vs Leicester City Match Preview and Prediction | EPL-2021/22

Leicester City visits Old Trafford for the very first time this season. The foxes were all over the United squad in first league game at the King Power Stadium on the 16th of October,2021. It was a devastating day for the men in red as they lost by a 4-2 margin. The last time United defeated Leicester was back in July 2020 with goals coming from Bruno Fernandes and Jesse Lingard.

United has lost only two league games after Ralf Ragnick took over the managerial role. United has been a tough team to beat but the major issue is that United loses out on securing those crucial three points. Last time out, Mason Greenwood opening the scoring books of the match followed by a quick equaliser from the home side just within the next twelve minutes bought the match back to level terms.

United needs to watch out for Jamie Vardy. He’s an exceptionally talented player and often haunts the top teams of the club by scoring goals. This happened exactly the last time out when Marcus Rashford equalled for the Reds and just within a minute the Foxes leapt ahead of United by a cheeky Vardy goal. United’s defence needs to checked once again. Varane and Lindelof should be given the green light along with Dalot and Shaw covering the defensive flanks who are having a thunderous performance in the international matches.

Anthony Elanga and Jadon Sancho seem to be the starter for United wingers yet again with Cristiano Ronaldo being the sole striker. Fred on the other hand, seems to be more balanced and looking to be more fitting in the United squad just like the other players. Leicester City won their last Premier League which was against Brentford with a close 2-1 scoreline. Moreover, they have struggled to get home those three points which could be a key factor helping the Red Devil’s clinch those three points and keep the top-four hopes alive.

Ronaldo’s hattrick in his last Premier League game has boosted his morale to a great extent. It also makes him challenge Salah for the golden boot award. Luke Shaw’s goal against Switzerland was one hell of a goal. This shall give Ragncik some hard time to think whether to play Luke Shaw in the LB position or Alex Telles?

Match Prediction-

Vardy and James Maddison seem to be the main problem for the United defence. Apart from this, United are very much balanced and gives the Reds an upper hand in this hefty fixture. Old Trafford crowd will be behind the clubs back helping to get the top four spot back from Arsenal. Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho once again should be on the scoring-sheet with Jamie Vardy scoring for the Foxes.
