Manchester United vs Liverpool: Match Preview

Manchester United has another big test on their way as they face Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday. Solskjaer’s men will be looking to carry on with the same confidence that they displayed against Atalanta.

Jurgen Klopp’s side has been running smooth and has won three of their past five matches in the league. Meanwhile, Manchester United has been going through a very patchy phase having lost two of their past three league games and that has increased pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Man United made a superb comeback against Atalanta and their second-half performance was a dominant one, different from what we usually witness at Old Trafford. Meanwhile, Liverpool was outstanding against Atletico Madrid and put in a solid second-half display.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcus Rashford, and Harry Maguire got their names on the scoresheet for Man United against the Italian outfit. Not to forget, Bruno Fernandes was playing in a class of his own.

Meanwhile, for Liverpool, Mohamed Salah has been on fire and has already scored in nine consecutive matches for the Reds. Another goal looks highly likely to be scored this Sunday.

Both the teams have some injury concerns, but Man United will be a bit more concerned as they will be playing without Raphael Varane. The French center-back was injured while playing the Nation’s League final against Spain.

Manchester United vs Liverpool: Team News

Manchester United Team News:

Marcus Rashford and Fred were seen hopping down the line against Atalanta and it was later revealed that Rashford suffered a dead leg. Both the players are expected to play for Man United.

Bruno Fernandes will be doubt as Solskjaer revealed that he suffered from minor knocks against Atalanta. Anthony Martial is still working on his fitness and was given a chance to play against Everton.

Raphael Varane will be the major miss and is expected to be out for a few more weeks. Man United will be expected to play with the same line-up that faced Ataalanta but there maybe some minor chances as Solskjaer indicated.

Liverpool Team News:

Liverpool will be having less concerns as they have a short injury list. Their midfield maestro Thiago Alcantara is sidelined and so is Harvey Elliot who suffered a gruesome injury against Leeds United.

Curtis Jones has been training and is expected to play on Sunday.

Opposition Key Man: Mohamed Salah

You can’t bet on any other player as much you can bet on this ever reliable world-class attacker that Liverpool possess.. He is on fire at the moment and has been scoring in nine consecutive matches. As things stand, he has scored the most goals in the league with six goals and five assists to his name.

The Egyptian mamooth is also the first Liverpool player to score in nine continuous matches, breaking all records in the process. With his current form looking unstoppable, it seems that Manchester United will be his next prey on Sunday.

Another goal and he will be breaking all headlines all over again. Not to forget, Man United duo Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof should be fully focused to prevent the deadly Liverpool trio from finding the back of the net.

Our Prediction from the match: Manchester United 1-3 Liverpool

We can’t deny the fact that Liverpool are in the form of their own and Man United should be playing at their best level to win this highly-rated match. We still consider Liverpool to win this match pretty comfortably.

Manchester United can change our predictions but only if they don’t perform like the way they did in the first-half against Atalanta.
