West Ham vs Manchester United: Match Report

For most of us, it is difficult to gobble a 3-1 loss to a 17th place side. With positivity taken out from a side, negativity getting over them in the dressing room and conflicts rising above team spirit, one cannot expect a team to win.

Meek from the start, Man United conceded a goal in the 6th minute. Too early than not, a goal that they knew would cost them 3 vital points. West Ham were rather predictable but to be playing against a side lacking self-esteem, one would rather not change their plans.

Never could United’s mighty forwards test Fabianski or give the away fans a likeliness of doing so. Only once could Lukaku shot on the post of Young’s looping ball and when I mean “on the post,” it implies the outer side of it.

United’s best effort came in the 65th minute when a powerful Fellaini’s header was clawed away by Fabianski.

There seemed a comeback on the cards in the second half when West Ham were looking a bit shaky but how could a team strike while lacking confidence playing with the ball.

United did get a sniff of hope when their Number 10 Marcus Rashford scored a lovely sublimed flick of Luke Shaw’s corner in from the near post. But moments later, West Ham’s top scorer Arnautovic put the game to bed when he slid the ball past De Gea that came in from Anderson’s clever pass. Losing 3-1 was always on the table picking out the lack of intent, speed on the feet and desire to triumph by the Red Devils.

The only positive to be taken out from the game was Marcus Rashford’s skill, improvisation, and deftness with the ball.

Awaited to hear what the Boss has to give his voice on!
