Manchester United FC have been heavily linked with Jadon Sancho and were tipped to complete the transfer this summer. Dortmund are standing firm on their valuation of Sancho about £100m, which is very high, especially in the post-pandemic times. It is now being reported that Manchester United chiefs refuse to pay more than £50m for the talented English winger.
Jadon Sancho has been at the centre of pretty much everything Dortmund have produced going forward. Dortmund don’t want to let go of their talismanic forward, but Sancho leans towards a move back to England. To prevent clubs to get the services of Sancho, Dortmund have set a steep asking price for him.
Manchester United manager Solskjaer had earlier said that the club is in a good position to exploit the market. But that might not be the reality as Solskjaer hasn’t been made aware of his transfer budget for the summer yet. United are rebuilding and will need to get good players to get the club back to where it belongs, the very top.
Senior officials at Dortmund have always maintained that Sancho will be a Dortmund player next season without fail. They have also added that Dortmund isn’t a club that needs to sell to stay alive anywhere, and are financially stable. But with Sancho wants to leave as Dortmund haven’t been able to compete for a league title, even after a good start.
It was reported that United won’t pay what Dortmund are demanding and will look elsewhere if the price doesn’t decrease. But now, senior officials from the club have said that they are not going to pay anymore than £50m for Sancho. The club has taken a hit post the pandemic time and will not give in to the huge demands of Dortmund.
It is believed that Solskjaer was asked to get rid of up to five players to raise cash for the Sancho transfer. The statement coming from the officials might just be a trick to lower the asking price of Sancho. With so many speculations, Sancho’s transfer story has been one of the most interesting ones in the near past.
Only time will tell if Jadon Sancho joins the Red Devils or stays put at Dortmund.
