Manchester United’s Premier League match against Brighton and Hove Albion has been postponed

As reported by the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United has officially announced that their Premier League match against Brighton & Hove Albion has been postponed due to the Seagulls’ advancement to the FA Cup quarterfinal.

Due to United’s Carabao Cup final match against Newcastle United, the Brentford game at Old Trafford was postponed earlier in the month. The match was moved to April 5 by the Premier League.

As United won’t play Brighton at the Amex Stadium on March 19 before the break, the league’s governing body will now have another problem on their hands.

With their 1-0 victory at Stoke City yesterday night, the Seagulls advanced to the FA Cup quarterfinals. They were supposed to host United on the same day on which they are playing their next FA Cup match.

The Red Devils have also advanced to the quarterfinal round of the FA Cup after defeating West Ham by a 3-1 scoreline. It won’t be surprising if United is paired with Brighton given that there are just eight teams left after the current round.

United put up a dominant display to defeat Newcastle United and lift the Carabao Cup. Erik ten Hag’s side could still win the FA Cup and Europa League, and they should be confident in their chances.

The Premier League might have to reschedule the game against Brighton during the first week of May if the Red Devils keep making progress in both competitions.

The Premier League match between Brighton and United may be played on May 2. Soon, there should be an announcement about the official date

One more league game might be postponed in the near future. Chelsea’s visit to Old Trafford on April 22 will need to be rescheduled if United advances to the FA Cup semifinal.

Since the beginning of the year, United has played every three days; this trend may continue until the end of the season.
