Manchester United’s travelling fans will receive a limited edition scarf at Wembley

Manchester United has announced that each fan attending the Carabao Cup final at Wembley will receive a limited-edition scarf in order to create a red and white wall to motivate the players against Newcastle.

United must defeat Newcastle at Wembley and break the club’s six-year-long trophy drought. A victory in the Carabao Cup final would be Erik ten Hag’s first accomplishment as United manager.

The club announced on its official website, that the decision to distribute limited-edition scarves was made when United decided against using plastic flags, which are typically a part of Wembley events.

The scarves are thought to be more heirloom-quality and environmentally friendly mementoes for the thousands of fans who will be at the game.

The fans may have wondered whether giving away scarves is a show of generosity or a cunning move by the club to mask other demonstrations like wearing green and gold scarves in front of Avram Glazer.

It was announced today that the Glazers will be in the stands to watch United’s game against Newcastle and it will be only the fourth time since 2019 that the American owners have watched their side.

Surely, scarves in shades of green and gold would have been popular in the finals. The 1958 group announced plans for a protest against the owners at Wembley to demonstrate to Avram that only a full sale is acceptable to the fanbase.

Erik ten Hag’s side will be inspired to perform at their best level in all four major competitions this season. However, winning the Carabao Cup will surely boost their confidence going forward.
