Marc Overmars: Donny should stay and fight for his place

Former Arsenal legend Marc Overmars has asked Manchester United star midfielder, Donny van de Beek, to remain and battle his way into the famous firing line-up.

The Netherlands star joined United in a £35 million arrangement in the previous summer on the rear of an exceptional season at Ajax.

Van de Beek’s amazing appearances for the Lancers during the 2018/19 mission carried him into the spotlight, with the Red Devils fending off firm rivalry to get this deal done. But Ajax chief Marc Overmars thinks that Van De Beek should stay and fight for his place at Manchester United.

As stated by Metro, Overmars while interviewing with NOS, said: ‘I think Donny should just fight, stay next year, and try to claim a starting place. You shouldn’t leave so quickly.’

Be that as it may, the move has not worked out, with the 24-year-old making only two Premier League begins under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this term. Fred, Scott McTominay, and Nemanja Matic are largely in front of the flexible midfielder in the hierarchy, which has provoked bits of hearsay over a potential summer transfer.

With a blocked midfield loaded up with experienced players, the ex-Ajax star has thought that it was difficult to break into Solskjaer’s first group.

Our View:

Van de Beek is a fiery presence in the focal point of the pitch with his steady development between the lines. Known for his ball control and fast reasoning passes, the Dutchman is more than fit for making something uncommon in the front third.

Lamentably, he has displayed excessively little of his Ajax form at Old Trafford, which could spell the finish of his Premier League profession as ahead of schedule as this late spring. Be that as it may, United is believed to be enthusiastic about keeping van de Beek in the wake of giving him a five-year contract the previous summer.

Contracted to the Threatre of Dreams until 2025, Van de Beek is a target for Roma and Borussia Dortmund.
