The latest reports have claimed that Premier League outfit Manchester United are keeping tabs on Inter Milan star Marcelo Brozovic this summer in order to add some stability and stature to their midfield department.
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a big task on rebuilding his squad over the summer and beyond as the Red Devils are in need of reinforcements and some top quality players if they need to return back to the summit of English football. The Norwegian manager has already made two signings this summer in the form of Daniel James and Aaron Wan Bissaka to bolster his team but there is still quite a lot of work that needs to be done in terms of recruitment.
With Belgian star Marouane Fellaini leaving United in January to the Far East and Ander Herrera leaving Old Trafford in the summer to join French giants Paris Saint Germain, United are falling short of quality players in the center of the pitch. There is also speculation revolving around World Cup-winning French midfielder Paul Pogba amid interest from La Liga side Real Madrid and the 26-year-old could be at the on his way to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Clearly United need some stability in their midfield and Solskjaer is weighing up his options in terms of which players he wants. The baby faced assassin is looking to snap up a deal for Inter Milan gem Marcelo Brozovic as a long term replacement for Nemanja Matic this summer. The Serbian defensive midfielder will turn 31 next year and may not fit in well with the pace of United’s style of play at the base of the midfield.
Brozovic was rock solid and immense for Croatia when they reached the finals of the World Cup last year in Russia and the 26-year-old has put in some strong displays for the Nerazzurri over the past few seasons as well which has attracted interest from Manchester United. Calm and composed on and off the ball, Brozovic has a wonderful passing range and a great ability to read the game as well. Capable of playing in an advanced role on the pitch, Brozovic is a classy operator and should be able to add stability in United’s midfield.
