As reported by The Guardian, English striker Marcus Rashford has admitted that he contemplated leaving Manchester United before Erik ten Hag assumed the role of manager last year.
During the challenging 2021/22 season, the 25-year-old struggled to find his goal-scoring form, managing to score only five times.
Paris Saint-Germain expressed interest in signing the Academy graduate and even held discussions with the player’s representatives.
When questioned about the possibility of leaving Old Trafford following a difficult period, Rashford responded:
“Before the manager [Ten Hag] came maybe a little bit, but it’s football, it happens. Everything is going to happen for a reason and he came to the club at the right time for me, the timing worked out.”
Rashford was in the best form of his life last season as he scored 30 goals for Ten Hag’s side. His contributions help his side win the Carabao Cup and also reach the FA Cup finals.

He would be an important player once again as the manager is keen to add more titles next season. He recently signed a new five-year contract which has further solidified his position in the squad.
He has been putting up some decent performances in the pre-season. With the impending arrival of Rasmus Hojlund, he would find a better partner upfront when it comes to contributing goals for the team.
The fans will be happy with Rashford’s decision of staying loyal to the club and continue his 18-year association with the Red Devils.
