Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has challenged star attacker Marcus Rashford to score 35 goals this season.
Rashford has been United’s standout performer under Ten Hag, with 20 goals and six assists in all competitions. The Dutch boss has now set a new challenge for the United Academy graduate.
Rashford has reached new heights under the former Ajax boss after a couple of dismal years. The Red Devils are still in the running for all four trophies this season, including third place in the Premier League, thanks to his great play.
After scoring 20 goals in a season, he is set to surpass his career-high total of 22 goals.

The Red Devils have failed to win a single trophy in the past five years. If he can help his side break their trophy drought this season, it will be remembered as Rashford’s best-ever season.
Ten Hag wants Rashford to score 15 more goals and set a record this season. While speaking to the club’s official website, he said:
“[There is] much more to come [from Marcus], and we have months to play, important months. We have to get into a position where we can win trophies, and till now, where we are, Marcus has had a big impact this season.”
“I remember at the start of the season, I was questioning can he score 20 goals, now he has that marker, he has scored 20 goals, but now it’s about getting more. “
“He has to challenge himself to get 30 or 35, but the most focus has to be on the next goal and if you be in that focus, you will see where you end up. But most important, finally, is that we win as a team.”
After the World Cup, Rashford scored in almost all of the games. In his last eight games in the Premier League, he has assisted on seven occasions. The Dutchman would want Rashford to continue scoring goals and remind the fans what it was like to win a trophy.
