Marcus Rashford denies false reports surrounding his future

Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford has denied false reports claiming he wants to be the highest-paid player in the Premier League.

Rashford and United are currently in contract negotiations because his current agreement is set to expire in 2024.

The English star reportedly wants a record contract worth £500,000 per week, according to a story from The Daily Star.

Rashford immediately responded to the report, calling it “total bullshit.”

Replying via Twitter, he said:

“Just before this one starts to do the rounds! It’s complete nonsense. The club and make self (sic) have been respectful to one another, and that’s how it will remain. My focus is purely on finishing as well as possible in the league and winning trophies.”

This season, the United Academy graduate has been spectacular in front of goal, tallying 27 goals in 44 appearances. His outstanding play has been a key element in United’s success this season. The club’s top priority should unquestionably be locking him down to a longer contract.

His future is being discussed, which will lead to viral news stories. Rashford felt compelled to challenge the false story as soon as it surfaced. The England international has spoken out against the untrue claims and emphasised that winning trophies is his main priority.

The Red Devils will look for ways to provide him with a better deal so they can keep him during his career’s peak years. A contract of £500,000 per week would be extremely unlikely to be granted.
