Marcus Rashford has admitted that his teammates’ primary goal is to qualify for the Champions League for the upcoming season.
Rashford’s game-winning goal against Brentford helped the Red Devils reclaim fourth place in the Premier League standings. The 25-year-old explained the significance of United’s victory after the game. As stated by the Manchester Evening News, he said:
“Everyone is clear that we are not going to play our best every week but there is never a time to drop our standards and we have to keep trying to push each other every week.”
“We were a bit more patient out of possession, we waited for the right conditions to press rather than pressing every ball.”
“We were calm and kept communicating to try and stop the supplies to their forward men.”
“[Finishing in the top four] is the aim, we want to get as many points as we possibly can and we will try and win every game.”
“We just have to keep playing well and give our best, keep recovering well and move on to the next fixture.”

Rashford, who has scored 28 goals this year, has served as United’s saviour. Ten of these 28 strikes in the Premier League this year have been game-winning goals.
In addition to trying to finish in the top four of the English Premier League, United is also vying to compete in two more tournaments.
They have reached the FA Cup semifinals and the quarterfinals of the Europa League. Erik ten Hag’s Carabao Cup victory this season has already put an end to United’s six-year trophy drought.
If the Dutchman is able to bring Champions League football back to the Theatre of Dreams, it will be a good first season.
By defeating Sean Dyche’s Everton this weekend, the Old Trafford team will have a better chance to maintain their lead in the top-four competition.
