As reported by the club’s official website, Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford will undergo shoulder surgery this month. He is expected to remain sidelined for about 12 weeks.
There was a lot of news regarding Rashford’s struggles due to his injury and it was expected that he will undergo surgery before the start of the new season.
The statement from the club read: “Following consultation between Marcus, the manager, club medical staff, and specialists, Marcus will undergo surgery imminently to resolve his shoulder injury. He will now focus on his rehabilitation in order to return as soon as possible.”
Marcus Rashford played the entire 2020/21 season with this serious injury. Although not many people noticed it and it was looking as if he is playing smoothly, but it was not the case. He has previously revealed that he was in a bad shape at the end of the season and he needs surgery.
Being Solksjaer’s main winger, he consistently played and therefore had very little time to recover. He was looking less confident for England as well and was a bit comfortable while making his runs.
It will be really important for Rashford to give his body some time to heal and recover as will it help him in long run. Solksjaer will have options to play other players at his position.
Currently, even Anthony Martial is injured and Mason Greenwood could fit the slot. New signing Jadon Sancho and Edinson Cavani will be expected to start the attack.
Marcus Rashford’s surgery will have one big bonus point and that is… He will make a return during the toughest phase of the new season. It will be a major boost for Ole Gunnar Solksjaer and United fans.
We wish Marcus a speedy recovery.
