Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford has signed a new five-year contract with the club as he ends the ongoing transfer speculation.
The 25-year-old, who had one year remaining on his previous contract, attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain and several English clubs. However, he has decided to stay with his beloved childhood club.
Rashford has signed a new contract with United worth a reported £300,000 per week, bringing him closer to the top earners at the club, currently led by Jadon Sancho.
While talking to the club’s official website, he revealed his excitement by saying:
“I joined Manchester United as a seven-year-old boy with a dream and that same passion, pride and determination to succeed still drive me every time I have the honour of wearing the shirt.”
“I’ve already had some amazing experiences at this incredible club, but there is still a lot more to achieve and I remain relentlessly determined to win more trophies in the years ahead.”
“As a United fan all my life, I know the responsibility that comes with representing this badge and feel the highs and lows as much as anyone.”
Rashford’s impressive performance last season, scoring 30 goals across all competitions, earned him the title of United’s Player of the Season.
As Erik ten Hag prepares for the upcoming campaign, he hopes that Rashford will continue his excellent goal-scoring form, while also seeking to bolster the team’s attacking options.
