In recent years it has been a trend in big clubs to appoint former players and legends as the manager of the club. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s appointment as Manchester United manager was one such instance. In his recent talk with the BBC, former Manchester United captain, Mark Hughes, has talked about Ryan Giggs’ chances at the helm at Old Trafford.
Ryan Giggs is Manchester United’s all-time highest appearance maker and is a very loyal servant of the club, playing only for the Red Devils. The Welshman was also United’s interim manager after Van Gaal was sacked and before the appointment of Jose Mourinho. Giggs is now the manager of the Wales National team, which has been performing well in the recent past.
In his recent interview, Mark Hughes said: “Ryan is in a good place in his management career. He is on an upward trend. He is probably more likely to get an opportunity at Manchester United than he was when Van Gaal left.”
There have already been rumours of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer being sacked if the team doesn’t produce the goods this season.
Giggs is still relatively new into his managerial career and hasn’t achieved silverware yet with the Wales National team. It is unlikely of Giggs to get the manager’s job at Manchester United, especially when there already have been talks of Mauricio Pochettino.
