After being sent home early from international duty, Martin Dubravka’s problems with Manchester United have only gotten worse.
As reported by the club’s official website, the loanee was scheduled to play for Slovakia in their next Nations League matches against Azerbaijan and Belarus.
However, the 33-year-old sustained an injury during practice and was subsequently returned to Manchester United as a precaution and his condition will be looked upon. Dubravka moved to Old Trafford on deadline day, but he has yet to play for the Reds in any competition, even though it was always probable that David de Gea would take the No. 1 spot.
He was not present for their most recent game against Sheriff Tiraspol, and no reason was offered for his absence. Dubravka will be hoping for a chance to contribute as a result of the demanding schedule United will encounter this season.
Some Newcastle fans questioned the goalkeeper’s decision to leave Tyneside for the south rather than contending with Nick Pope for the starting position.
Due to a stipulation in his loan agreement with Newcastle, Dubravka is eligible for recall in January; however, the Magpies have added new signing Loris Karius to their 25-man Premier League roster as a result of Karl Darlow’s injury.
This could further affect Dubravka’s chances of featuring for Newcastle if he decides to return back.
