As reported by the Sun, Mason Greenwood met with Manchester United management for the first time in person since a rape case against him was dropped.
United’s senior officials met with Greenwood and his team as part of their internal inquiry into the accusations made against him. The Crown Prosecution Service dismissed allegations of attempted rape, assault, and coercive behaviour earlier this month, clearing Greenwood of any wrongdoing.
The England international believed that after that, his career would be able to resume, but United quickly declared that it will “now complete its own procedure before considering next measures.”
The goal of the investigation is to provide United officials with a more thorough knowledge of the events surrounding Greenwood’s arrest last year. The English star remains suspended while the investigation is being conducted. Greenwood had a face-to-face meeting with the club officials before United’s match against Barcelona in the first leg of the Europa League on February 16.
The 21-year-old and his team met with the club in order to begin the process of trying to determine precisely what may or may not have occurred.
Because of how delicate the matter is, the club feels that Mason should have a chance to completely defend himself. The club is eager to hear his account of what happened. They can’t begin to move things along until they understand the whole picture.

Even if the club decides to keep Greenwood, the player believes that he will not play this season. There is no timescale for when the investigation will be completed and the player will be back at Carrington.
While the investigation is continuing, he is unable to practise or play for United but is still receiving his £75,000 weekly salary.
