According to the Manchester Evening News, Mason Mount arrived at Carrington on Monday for his medical examination ahead of his potential transfer to Manchester United.
The 24-year-old midfielder was seen arriving in a van at around 8 am, with photographers capturing the moment. Mount’s official announcement as a United player is expected in the coming days, and there is a possibility that he could make his debut for the club in the upcoming match against Leeds in Oslo.
United finalized an agreement with Chelsea to sign Mount for an initial fee of £55 million, with an additional £5 million in add-ons.
The additional £5 million in add-ons is reportedly heavily tied to winning trophies, and sources indicate that United would gladly pay the total of £60 million if it means Mount contributes to the club’s success.
The English midfielder had already agreed to personal terms on a five-year contract, with the option for an additional year, a month prior to the agreement between United and Chelsea.

Once he completes his medical, which was scheduled for Monday morning due to his holiday absence last week, Mount will become the first new signing of the transfer window for Manchester United.
Mount, who had one more year left on his contract at Chelsea, expressed his desire to join Man United last month. However, United were hesitant to pay a substantial fee for a player they could acquire for free in 2024.
Erik ten Hag prioritized the addition of a younger midfielder this summer and closely monitored Mount’s development since his successful loan spell at Vitesse Arnhem in the 2017/18 season.

Ten Hag even considered bringing Mount on loan to Ajax the following season. Now that a deal for the midfielder has been secured, United will shift their focus towards signing a goalkeeper and a striker as Ten Hag aims to further strengthen the squad.
