Matic Unsure About His Future

Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic is unsure whether his future remains at Old Trafford, despite holding discussions with the Premier League giants about his current situation.

The 31-year-old was brought to Old Trafford in 2017 by his former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, and he played in all except two of the club’s 38 Premier League games in his debut season at the Theatre Of Dreams.

However, after Portuguese manager Mourinho was replaced by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a year ago, Matic is no longer considered a first-team regular under the Norwegian.

Having just returned to the squad from a groin injury, Matic has made just two Premier League starts this campaign and therefore has been linked with a move away from the club in the January transfer window, and Matic has remained open-minded about what will happen in the future.

The Serbian has stated that he has spoken to people at the club and he is unsure about whether he will remain at Old Trafford “To be honest, I don’t know yet what I’m going to do, I spoke with the club, I said that until my last day at the club I will do my best and be professional.”

Matic further added that nobody knows what will happen in football, but he will be selfish in his decision for the future, “In football, you never know what’s going to happen. My family is happy here, I’m happy, so we will see what the next step is if I will leave or stay, but whatever we decide I’m sure that we will decide for the best.”

After Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku made their moves to the Serie A to join Inter Milan, Matic is also considering the option to play under former boss Antonio Conte.
