PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino has refused to comment on his future at Parc des Princes, despite the fact that he could leave the club this summer.
Following PSG’s elimination from the Champions League at the hands of Real Madrid, the Argentine manager has come under fire. Furthermore, during Friday night’s Ligue 1 match against Lorient, the former Spurs manager received a nasty welcome from Les Parisien’s fans.
Pochettino’s hopes of staying at the club have been believed to be fading following the Champions League elimination, and now he has also lost the trust of the fans. Despite the fact that he is under contract until 2023, it seems that he may move out soon.
Manchester United is one of the clubs that are thought to be interested in signing Pochettino. They are already in search of a permanent manager and the PSG boss could be the right one to fill the shoes.
The Argentine manager, though, was not in the mood to discuss his future after the 5-1 win against Lorient, claiming that he had a year remaining on his contract.
While talking to Foot Mercato, he said:
“For the moment, I am not discussing my future with the leaders of the club. I have one year left on my contract, but it is important to analyze before making a decision and afterward, of course, we will also respect the decision taken by the club for the future. What will happen will happen.”
Here Mauricio Pochettino clearly stated that he would respect whatever decision the French club’s board makes in the future. Despite the fact that Pochettino is on the Red Devils’ wish list, Ajax manager Erik ten Hag appears to be the frontrunner for the job.
However, Manchester United will still be planning talks with the Argentine manager in the coming weeks.
