As per The Liazli, new Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri is looking for a return for Manchester United star Andreas Pereira ahead of the new Serie A season.
The Brazilian star spent the 2020/21 season on loan at the Italian giants. While he had the opportunity to show his talent, he was far from his best. Pereira scored one goal and provided four assists in 33 appearances for the Italian side.
As things stand, Lazio is yet to open discussions to keep Pereira permanently at Lazio. This will see the player get back to Old Trafford when his contraxt terminates on July 1.
That could change if Sarri decides to bring the player back to Lazio. He has now talked to the club to bring back the Brazilian midfielder for another season. The 62-year-old has plans for the midfielder’s capabilities and accepts he could yet have a task to carry out at the club.

As indicated by the report, Lazio is currently in talks with United for a loan move for Pereira. It comprises of talks over a potential one-season loan contract with a buy option included too. The player has two years left on his present contract at Manchester United.
Pereira as far as it matters for him doesn’t seem to have a future at United and could be lent out indeed. He knows that there will be not many freedoms for him at Old Trafford and is quick to do a permanent move somewhere else.
The Red Devils value him at £21million, a price they will be fortunate to get given his latest poor performances. A promising spell in the forthcoming season could anyway change all that.
At 25, Pereira actually has time on his side to rebuild himself somewhere else. We all think that he has already earned his time at United and now needs to go to another club. Ideally, he will fare better if he leaves.
Having joined United from PSV Eindhoven in 2014, Pereira didn’t perform at his best. Maybe a loan move to Lazio will give him another chance to reshape his career.
