Manchester United endured a frustrating defeat at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League game at Old Trafford last night. The Red Devils should have won the game had they taken their chances but ultimately PSG won with a score of 1-3. In his post-game interview, Scott McTominay has urged the team to get their heads up and get ready for the Leipzig game.
Scott McTominay was at the heart of most things for Manchester United last night against PSG. But his midfield partner lost his plot, as Fred was sent off in the second half, which proved vital for the Parisians victory. McTominay was good last night but knows that United will have to play at their best to get out to the Champions League Round of 16.
In his interview, McTominay said: “For us the result at home [against PSG] is out of the equation now, we forget about it. It’s a game we have to go and win. You can’t just go there and play for a point. You have to go and approach it like you want to win that football match and that’s definitely what we’re going to do.”
Manchester United now need to win against RB Leipzig next week in the Champions League to get out the group stage into the Round of 16. McTominay admits that United should move on from the loss and concentrate on the bigger picture and focus on the game next week.
