As reported by Italian Publication Il Mattino, Napoli won’t even consider selling Victor Osimhen this summer if Manchester United doesn’t show up with a bid of €150 million (£132 million).
At the end of the season, United will prioritise adding a new striker while also contemplating moves for Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos and Tottenham’s Harry Kane.
The Nigerian star Osimhen has scored 25 goals in 29 games for Napoli and has helped them advance to the Champions League quarterfinals and lead Serie A by 18 points.
The former Lille player is entering his prime at this point and recently told the Italian media that he hasn’t ruled out playing in the Premier League.
United are serious about trying to sign Osimhen this summer, and if they do make a bid, the 24-year-old is likely to be open to making a move. But, Aurelio De Laurentiis, the president of Napoli, and Cristiano Giuntoli, the club’s sporting director, have determined that the player will not depart for anything less than €150 million.
The Napoli management will not even bring up a sale unless that offer is made, as the club is not under any financial pressure to sell one of its prized players.
According to reports, Erik ten Hag prefers Tottenham’s striker Kane to spearhead United’s attacking unit, but signing the England captain would cost the club a fortune.
Kane’s current contract expires in 2024, and Spurs are certain he will sign a new one with the team. They believe that number will be sufficient to ward away any interest from United.
