Napoli defender Kim Min-jae is reportedly set to bid farewell to his parent club as he prepares for a hugely anticipated summer transfer to Manchester United, according to Italian publication Il Mattino.
The South Korean player joined Napoli from Fenerbahce last summer and has enjoyed a highly successful debut season. He has played a crucial role in their title-winning campaign, keeping 16 clean sheets in 35 Serie A appearances.
Despite becoming a fan favourite in Italy, it is claimed that his departure has been confirmed after the final game of the season. Min-Jae has been suspended for the last league match of the season. But he is expected to be present in the stands at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
United has shown the strongest interest in signing him, and they are likely to be his next destination. The Red Devils are set to trigger the center-back’s €60 million release clause, which will be active from July 1 to 15th.

Recent reports from Il Mattino indicate that Kim Min-jae’s move to Old Trafford is highly likely, suggesting that the Italian publication has valuable inside information on the player’s situation.
Min-jae has had an exceptional debut season in Italian football, making him an enticing addition to United due to his strong defensive abilities.
The South Korean centre-back is known for his ability to play the ball well, averaging 73 passes per league game with an impressive 91 per cent accuracy.
Furthermore, he has demonstrated his defensive prowess by winning 1.6 tackles and 4.6 duels per match, along with making 3.5 clearances.

With his skills, Min-jae would provide healthy competition for Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez in the centre-back position, particularly given Varane’s history of injuries.
Acquiring Min-jae would be a cost-effective move considering his buy-out clause, and it appears that the Red Devils are currently in a pole position to secure his signature.
