As the Premier League title race begins to heat up heading into the festive period, Nemanja Matic has voiced hope of being able to lift the trophy in the Manchester United colours.
The Serbian international has won the PL title twice, both times during his reign in the Chelsea shirt, and the midfielder remains hopeful of being able to do the same while turning out for Ole Gunnar Solskajer’s men.
Manchester United could go second in the league standings, just two points adrift of league leaders Liverpool, if the Red Devils manage to come out on top when going up against Brendan Rodger’s Foxes on Saturday at the King Power Stadium.
With the Manchester Reds not having won the English top-flight title since 2013, Sir Alex Ferguson’s last season in charge of the 20-time champions, Matic admitted it would be similar to a dream if he and his teammates were able to bring the trophy back to Old Trafford.
‘It would certainly amount to making another dream a reality after winning two titles at Chelsea,’ said Matic, as quoted by the Daily Mail.
‘If we enjoyed a slice of good fortune and clinched the Premier League title, it’d be on par with what I accomplished at Chelsea. I am in good shape and hope to carry on playing at the top level for another four or five years.’
