Nemanja Matic Speaks Out On Solskjaer

Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic has explained that he has no problem whatsoever with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer despite his struggle for regular football at Old Trafford.

The defensive midfielder has found himself out of United’s starting XI this season, and the 31-year-old made his first appearance off the bench last week for the Red Devils.

Matic was an unused substitute in the opening three Premier League games but the Serbian international played the final 22 minutes in United’s 1-1 draw against Southampton at Sta Mary’s.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has preferred to use the midfield duo of Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay putting Matic’s future into jeopardy. Matic arrived at the red half of Manchester from Chelsea back in the summer of 2017 but hasn’t really been able to nail down a starting berth under Solskjaer’s reign.

Matic is currently preparing for Serbia’s international qualifiers for the Euro 2020 but has claimed that he has no worries with the Norwegian boss at Old Trafford, “I work as hard as I can, we respect the decision, it is mine to show him that he was wrong and to bring me back to where I belong. There is no problem. I told him I disagreed with him, but that he had to decide the team. I have been in football for a long time; I have played almost all the games for all the clubs in the last 10 years. In order for me to play, one had to sit on the bench and accept that fact, and so do I now. The coach must opt for the team that will fight for the title, and if he does not win, he bears the responsibility.”
