As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Martin Dubravka’s parent club, Newcastle United, has called him back from his loan spell at Manchester United.
At the beginning of the season, Erik ten Hag needed a backup goalkeeper for David De Gea; thus, the 33-year-old player joined the Red Devils on loan.
Given that Nick Pope was their first-choice goalkeeper and that Loris Karius and Karl Darlow were their backup goalkeepers, Newcastle was ready to let him take Dean Henderson’s place at Old Trafford after Henderson joined Nottingham Forest on loan.
The Slovakian international has since made two appearances for Manchester United, starting in their Carabao Cup matches against Aston Villa and Burnley and recording a clean sheet in the latter match.

However, Newcastle decided to recall him with immediate effect, ending his loan period early, so he won’t be able to add to that total. The German hasn’t played in a competitive match for the club yet and may leave in search of first-team football, despite Eddie Howe’s prior statements that he wanted to keep him.
Newcastle are in great form as Dubravka makes his way back to St James’ Park. They have one Premier League loss this year and are in strong position to finish in the top four.
