Newcastle United reignite interest in Jesse Lingard after takeover

As reported by The Telegraph, Newcastle United reignite interests in Man United’s Jesse Lingard after their complete takeover by Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund. It has been now reported that Newcastle has already made plans to sign world-class players in the coming transfer window.

Currently, Newcastle has the richest owner in the world and with that, they can sign the players that they require in order to become a top-class team in the league. As reported by Goal, New part-owner of the club Amanda Staveley who holds a minor share in the club, has promised the fans that they will be looking for World-class players.

She said: “We are in the market to compete for world-class players. We have great ambitions — I hope it’s going to be a game-changer for Newcastle United.”

They are also making plans to improve the training facilities. With this, one name that pops up in our mind is Jesse Lingard. The United midfielder was sensational on loan to West Ham last season, where he scored nine goals and provided four assists in just 16 games.

West Ham was unable to buy him permanently due to his £40m tag. Lingard stayed at United this season as he wanted to fight for his spot in the starting XI. But you can’t deny the fact that he may think of a transfer next summer, as he is getting much less game-time at Manchester United.

The Magpies will be looking to take advantage of this situation and they have a higher chance to make a move for the English midfielder next summer. His impact for West Ham has attracted Newcastle as they know that Lingard has the capability to score a lot of goals if he is given much-needed game time.

Newcastle United could be a perfect base for him to build his career and with many quality players reported to be signed by the club, he could be a vital player for the team.
