French club Nice’s Captain Dante has recently criticized the club’s management, led by potential Manchester United buyer Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
Nice, owned by Ratcliffe’s company INEOS, has made high-profile signings but has struggled to achieve positive results this season.
The team currently sits in ninth place in Ligue 1, prompting fan protests and boycotts of matches. Dante, who has been with the club since 2016, has urged the club’s hierarchy to focus on action rather than false words in order to achieve success.
Nice ultras also protested during a recent match, expressing their dissatisfaction with the team’s performance. Ratcliffe had publicly expressed ambitions for a title push this season but replaced manager Lucien Favre with the inexperienced Didier Digard in January, which has not yielded the desired outcomes.

Despite a strong start under Digard, Nice has only won two Ligue 1 matches since February. Dante slammed the club’s hierarchy for their lack of action and failure to keep up with their words.
As reported by the Sun, he said:
“I think at some point you have to be clear in what you’re saying. To maintain a project, maybe you need to speak less about objectives and work in silence to create an environment of competitors.”
“Because the expectation is even bigger and then, after, people are frustrated. The best thing to do is to prepare as quickly as possible for next season in order to start it well.”
Do you remember how many players came in at the end of the transfer window last summer? Six left, and six arrived. It’s difficult in these conditions. Simply, we mustn’t make the same errors.”
“When the coach (Lucien Favre) arrived, we said in two years that we would always be in the Champions League. It doesn’t work like that.”
“Ligue One is very difficult. We lost 10 players, and 10 arrived. The teams in the semi-finals of big competitions play together for three, or four years. We changed everything last summer. There is a lack of coherence somewhere. I am sorry to say that.”
These comments would be difficult to read for some United supporters but the majority of the fan base wants to see the Qataris take hold of the club due to these reasons.
Ratcliffe’s management has failed to make an impact at Nice and in fact, the club is performing horribly under their leadership. A lack of clarity on the field and the failure to build a competitive squad has affected Nice’s overall position in the league.
Also, the decision to sack the manager didn’t bring any positive results this season. United would not like to witness the same issues at Old Trafford as they have already suffered a lot under the Glazer’s management.
In our opinion, Sheikh Jassim should buy 100% of the club’s ownership and help the Red Devils establish their lost glory.
