English left-back Luke Shaw is also an injury doubt as he is recovering from a groin problem and club captain Ashley Young is set to deputize at left-back in his absence.
However, Anthony Martial could make his return to the starting lineup after his goal against Partizan in the Europa League and the forward is expected to start up front alongside Marcus Rashford and Daniel James.
