Official- Manchester United Sign Bruno Fernandes

Premier League outfit Manchester United has announced that they have signed midfielder Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon following weeks of negotiations over his transfer fees.

The 25-year-old Fernandes put pen to paper on a five-and-a-half-year contract with the Premier League giants, which includes an option for the club to extend his stay for an additional season. Fernandes underwent a medical in Manchester on Thursday morning following a massive turnaround in negotiations which saw the Red Devils finally agreeing on a transfer fee with the Primeira Liga champions.

Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and Sporting director Hugo Viana managed to reach an agreement that will see the red half of Manchester to pay an initial fee of £46.56 million and a further £21.1 million in potential bonuses for the highly-rated Portuguese attacker.

Fernandes becomes United’s first signing of the winter transfer window and provides club manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with a much-needed boost in midfield, an area where he has found himself short of options following injuries that were sustained by Paul Pogba as well as Scott McTominay.

Upon signing his contract with United, Fernandes revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo played a major part in his signing for the club, “My love of Manchester United really started when I used to watch Cristiano Ronaldo play and ever since then I have been a big fan of this great club. For me to now play for Manchester United feels incredible, I have worked hard to get to this moment and I can promise the fans that I will give everything for the badge to help bring us more success and trophies.”
