Official- Romelu Lukaku Joins Inter Milan

Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku has officially made the move to Serie A club Inter Milan after a long awaited transfer move from Manchester United this summer.

The 26-year-old center forward joined Manchester United back in the summer of 2017 in a big money £75 million deal from Merseyside club Everton and managed to score goals on a regular basis at the start on his life at Manchester United. But somehow, Lukaku wasn’t able to live up to the hefty price tag on his back and was renowned for rather missing chances than converting them.

During his two years at Old Trafford, Lukaku managed to score goals on a consistent basis but never really fit in as a fan favorite at the club. Over the course of the summer, Lukaku admitted that he felt rather unloved and unwanted by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Lukaku arrived at the San Siro on Wednesday to complete his medical and the deal was announced just before the transfer window shut. The big burly center-forward signed a five-year contract with Inter Milan and the Italian side paid £73 million for his services from Manchester United.

While speaking after his transfer to Inter Milan, Lukaku told the official club website that he wanted to work alongside Antonio Conte and Inter was the only club for him, “Inter were the only club I wanted. I’m here to bring the Nerazzurri back to the top.”

Manchester United also confirmed the deal on their official website in a short statement which read, “Everybody would like to thank Romelu for his efforts at the club and pass on our best wishes for the future”

Lukaku netted 42 goals in 96 matches as a Manchester United player and will hope to improve on that goalscoring form at Inter Milan.
