Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes were used only for 45 minutes each in a goalless second leg tie against Real Sociedad in the round of 32.
Ole fielded a really young team and gave starts to many of the youngsters as we even saw Shola Shoretire on the field. This was some invaluable experience and a good boost for all the youngsters.
Ole also admitted that Rashford and Bruno weren’t played for the entire 90 minutes keeping in mind the weekend clash at Stamford Bridge.
“Yes, I’ve got to say that they are very very fit athletes who recover well, normally they play every game for the full 90 minutes so today I was very pleased to get them 45 minutes each,” he said after the game.
Manchester United had put the tie to bed in the first tie itself with a rampant 4-0 victory and Real Sociedad would need something really inspirational to have any sort of a chance at coming back.
The Sunday clash between Manchester United and Chelsea can be important in the top 4 race this season as both sides have had to deal with inconsistencies time and again. Chelsea got rid of their manager mid-season and brought in Thomas Tuchel.
The former PSG manager will want to showcase his prowess as a manager and stamp his authority on the Premier League with a win against Ole’s Manchester United.
Both Bruno and Rashford are in fine form this season as Rashford is breaking records with almost every second match and Bruno has really inspired this team with his hunger and determination.
Ole and agreed that both of them are important players to the team and would play a pivotal part in the mid-week clash against Chelsea.
Both the teams are coming on the back of some decent form so it will definitely be a match to watch out for.
