Manchester United is currently enjoying the top spot on the Premier League table but they await what seems to be one of their toughest fixtures in recent times as they will be playing Liverpool at Anfield.
Anfield has been a defiant fortress and seems impregnable as Liverpool haven’t lost a home Premier League game here in years.
Ole admits that this game will be a big challenge for them as he said in an interview with Sky Sports:
“It’s a test and reality check for where we are really at because Liverpool at Anfield is one of the great challenges.”
Liverpool has faced a lot of issues this season as most of their first-team players are injured or unavailable and Jurgen Klopp has had to use a makeshift central defensive partnership for most of this season. Manchester United can use all of these issues to their advantage as they seem to have regained their confidence and are in the form of their life. This will be a test not only for the Red Devils but even for the defending champions.
Liverpool will be looking to get back in fine form and nothing would be as much of a booster as winning against their arch-rivals on their own home ground.
Many managers despise having to go to Anfield because of the atmosphere that is present at the Merseyside club and despite everything that is happening Ole has very calmly addressed that this would be a stern test for his team.
He isn’t overstating their position and has told everybody that they would only be happy if they are still sitting on top of the table at the end of the season.
