Opposition managers take dig at Manchester United for penalties

Liverpool has had to deal with a lot of problems this season as they look to defend the Premier League title and the fact that the FA has decided to cramp up all of the fixtures hasn’t played well with most of the Top 6.

This congestion has resulted in more injuries which have made it difficult for the Top teams to maintain the high standards that they have set in previous seasons.

Jurgen Klopp has been pretty vocal in his criticism and almost went head-to-head with one of the presenters in an interview as his high press game demands a lot out of the players and the current line-up has forced him to make many improvisations.

Since the VAR has come into existence Manchester United has won 20 which is almost double the number of penalties that Liverpool has won (10) but this season Manchester United has won six which is only one more than Liverpool.

Klopp Claimed that “ United have had more penalties in two years than I have had in Five and a half years.”

Even Tottenham’s manager, whose sides had recorded a thumping win over United last October, has made his views known on this in a very sarcastic comment when he said :

“Some players Score 10 goals a season on penalties. I’m not speaking about Harry Kane by the way.”

Every football and premier league fan understood the subtext of this comment and even Frank Lampard had taken a swipe at them earlier for the number of penalties that they were being awarded.

Almost all of the Top 6 have had issues with VAR time and again and they have questioned the method in which it operates but the lack of consistency that it has provided throughout is a worrying factor and there has been a lot of vocal criticism.
