Edinson Cavani has finally broken his barren streak at Manchester United as he scored his first goal for the Red Devils against Everton. The Uruguayan striker has done well to get back to fitness at Carrington but still isn’t at his best. In his latest interview, Micheal Owen has expressed his concern as he doubts if Cavani will get the service he needs to score a lot of goals at Manchester United.
Earlier it was reported that Michael Owen had lauded Cavani’s movement off the ball which helped him score so many goals at PSG. The veteran striker hasn’t yet started a game for the Red Devils but against Everton, he opened his account in a United shirt. Solskjaer would hope Cavani would score many more goals for Manchester United.
In his interview, Owen said: “I’ve watched this lad for years and years, there’s not many players I’ve seen with movement like him in the box when the ball is coming in. Manchester United of old, he would have scored hundreds of goals in those teams. Now, are they going to get lots of crosses into the box and cut-backs that he preys on?”
Edinson Cavani is one of the best penalty box strikers in the world and thrives on crosses in the box. The Uruguayan has also been called up to his national squad, where he will get even better in terms of shape and match sharpness. He would hope that he would get the service he needs at Manchester United to make a real impact.
