Paris Saint-Germain looking to rope in Man United winger Marcus Rashford as Kylian Mbappe replacement

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are said to be eyeing Manchester United star winger Marcus Rashford as a potential replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who is set to leave the French capital when his contract ends this season.

According to Duncan Castles of The Times, PSG are considering Rashford, in addition to being linked with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, to fill the void in their frontline.

The French champions have a strong interest in Rashford, viewing him as a suitable successor to Mbappe.

The English attacker, capable of playing on the left wing or as a main striker, sharing similar qualities to their current star.

With €200 million available with the club for a rebuild following Mbappe’s departure, Rashford is seen as a potential target.

Is Rashford still a valuable player for the Old Trafford outfit?

The 26-year-old remains a crucial player for the Red Devils despite a decline in his goal contributions this season compared to the previous one, where he scored 30 goals and provided 11 assists.

Despite a slow start this term with only five goals and six assists, he has regained form in recent weeks and continues to be a key starter under manager Erik ten Hag.

At the current scenario, Man United require player sales this summer before making big investments in the transfer market,

However, the club should not hesitate to consider selling the €70 million-rated Rashford unless he unexpectedly submits a transfer request.

As long as the academy graduate remains with the club, there is no need for the management to entertain offers for him. The player is a vital member of the squad and still has his prime years ahead of him.

Rashford will likely continue being loyal to his current contract with United.

It would be foolish to rule out the English star, since he can turn the tide in any game of the season due to his match winning capabilities.

The PL giants will be less worried in this situation since the player has already signed a huge contract with the club. He is expected to stay at Old Trafford until his contract ends by 2028.

It remains to be seen how this story develops from here.
