Paul Ince slams Manchester United for defensive tactics

Liverpool seems to be in a really vulnerable position right now and without an experienced center-back in that defence line, they haven’t performed at their best.

They have used a makeshift defensive partnership ever since the match against Everton when Van Djik was at the receiving end of a really horrible tackle from which he is still to recover.

Paul Ince has slammed Solksjaer for playing a very defensive game and sitting deep in their own half as he felt that this weaker Liverpool team was there for the taking even though they haven’t lost a home game at Anfield in a really long time.

“You could see the game plan with Manchester United, you saw it from the first whistle – they defended very, very deep,” the ex-Manchester United midfielder told talkSPORT.

He also reminded us that Mourinho had tried to do the same thing when he was in charge of Manchester United and they were absolutely slaughtered and Mourinho was then quickly relieved of his duties.

Liverpool hasn’t had a victory since the last 3 games and their Midfielders are having to come in defence to help out which has left a big hole in the midfield. They have struggled to score and Paul Ince believes that Manchester United could have done the improbable.

Getting even a point at Anfield can be a big thing and they came very close to securing a win in the second half of the game but some excellent saves from Alisson denied them any chance of breaking the record.

Anfield is always a tough place to go away and very few teams get away with parking the bus but a point would be welcome nevertheless.
