Paul Pogba fumes at Manchester United in ‘Pogmentary’ over contract offer

Paul Pogba has slammed Manchester United for giving him “nothing” after two contract offers totaling over £300,000 per week.

In the upcoming Amazon Prime documentary The ‘Pogmentary,’ which will be released on Friday, it will be shown how the player and the club failed to reach an agreement.

The Frenchman spurned United’s second offer alongside his late agent Mino Raiola, describing it as “nothing” as he sat in his Rolls Royce.

Pogba left Old Trafford at the end of the season, after six seasons in the Premier League that occasionally promised a lot but often fell short. It’s the second time the Frenchman has been permitted to leave the club on his own terms.

Both times, the club attempted to keep him, but he chose to leave, with Juventus thought to be his final destination, as it was ten years before.

On Friday, the same day that ‘Pogumentary’ is launched, the 29-year-old is set to announce his return to Juventus.

Pogba promises to prove to Manchester that they made a mistake in waiting to grant him a contract at the end of the documentary. And to prove to other clubs that Manchester made a mistake by not signing me.

According to preview material obtained by The Athletic, he said:

“My thought process is to show Manchester that they made a mistake in waiting to give me a contract. And to show other clubs that Manchester had made a mistake in not offering me a contract.”

Raiola replied to this by saying: “Yes. They absolutely want you to stay. For me, the offer doesn’t reflect that. I told them: ‘If you want him to stay, don’t make that offer.’ I will make them understand that if they really want you to stay and they want to build a project around you, this time they have to act differently and put the money on the table.”

For which Paul Pogba replied:

“They’re bluffing. How can you tell a player you absolutely want him and offer him nothing? Never seen that.”

The French midfielder’s representatives are nearing the completion of a four-year contract that will allow him to return to Juventus on a free transfer. Pogba spent four years in Italy before rejoining United in 2016.

Paul Pogba, who is approaching his 30th birthday, is aware that this could be his final big move and wants to take his time to make the best option possible.

He hasn’t been able to restore United’s glory days. The only titles he won were the League Cup and the Europa League.
