Paul Pogba’s agent to hold showdown talks with former club Juventus

As the 2021-22 Serie A season approaches its final days, transfer market news is picking up the pace. And for Juventus, this means that some transfer targets are beginning to emerge.

Juventus has set a Monday meeting with Paul Pogba’s agent to explore a possible return to Turin this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano. Those who represent Pogba, who is out of contract at Manchester United at the end of the season, could ask for upwards of €11 million net per season over four years.

Still, if he wants to transfer to Turin, he’ll have to take a significant pay cut from what he’s getting now.

Juventus has shown a strong desire to bring the 29-year-old Frenchman back to Turin. But, as one might think, it could all come down to the money element of it all, and whether or not there is really a solution.

When it comes to finances, both Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have more to offer Juventus. That’s hardly surprising, given both clubs’ financial resources and Juventus’ desire to balance their financial books which are being done by every other major Italian club.

Essentially, Juventus may be analyzing whether Pogba’s desire to play Champions League football — something he won’t be able to do with Manchester United next season — outweighs the financial hit he’ll face. Also, it seems that Pogba may be much happier to join Juventus rather than stay at Old Trafford.

Juventus is ready to offer a contract including €8 million per season plus €2 million in add-ons.
