Manchester United FC have ended their 2019/20 season with the defeat against Sevilla in the Europa League semi-final. The Red Devils failed to take their chances against the Spanish side which cost them a place in the final of the tournament. Former United player and pundit Paul Scholes has emphasized the need for spending money to sign world-class players, who will improve the club.
The Red Devils crumbled at the beginning of the season when the club failed to create chances and score goals. Only with Pogba ad Bruno Fernandes, United have been back at their best, which shows the importance of good signings. United created chances last night but failed to score goals, which ultimately led to the Red Devils tasting defeat.
After the match ended, Scholes said: “I don’t think they played badly, I thought they were really good tonight actually against a really good Sevilla team. If they want to win trophies, they’ve got to start spending the money. Okay, they created chances tonight, but if you think if Sancho’s in that team tonight, I think United are scoring.”
Manchester United have been linked with loads of players, but with the right ones, this team can surely win titles next season. But Ed Woodward doesn’t have a great reputation in making signings and only time will tell who joins United next season.
