Manchester United FC legend Paul Scholes has sounded out a warning to his former side regarding their progress in the UEFA Europa League. The ex-England international believes that Serie A giants Inter Milan are the favorites to lift the European competition besides Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men.

Following their victory over LASK earlier this week, Manchester United FC booked a quarter-final date with Copenhagen. If the Red Devils do manage to secure a victory against their Danish opponents, Solskjaer’s side could meet either Wolves or Sevilla in the semi-final clash of the Europa League.
Scholes’ recent comments on Inter Milan emphasizes the 45-year old’s regard for the Italian side. The Nerazzurri have an incredible bunch of players within their squad, amongst them former Manchester United FC hitman Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian international has hit top form since his move to the San Siro last summer.
“But the biggest threat to Man United winning this Europa League to me is Inter Milan, I think they’re along with United the best team in it.”
“There’s motivation on each side especially from Inter players, look at Lukaku the way he left the club, that could be a big story.”
Besides Inter Milan and the Red Devils, the presence of Bayer Leverkusen in the competition should be noted as well. The Bundesliga outfit has performed admirably over the course of their European campaign and has the star presence of Chelsea target Kai Havertz amongst their ranks.
Scholes, however, played down Wolves’ chances of clinching the title in their breakthrough season in the Europa League. Despite admitting that the Premier League outfit were a good team, the former Manchester United FC midfielder voiced his belief of the Red Devils being much more poised to secure a win against Nuno Espírito Santo’s side.
“No I don’t [think Wolves have a chance]. They are a good team Wolves. They have a good manager and good players, I just think United would beat Wolves nine times out of ten. They are capable but I just don’t think they I quite good enough to win the competition,”
