Manchester United’s Phil Jones was possibly the only bright spot in the game against Wolves, which speaks volumes about his teammate’s poor performances.
The English centre-back had a terrific game, and it’s a shame that instead of being praised, he was forced to play in the 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford.
Jones was frequently used as a scapegoat by fans who chose him as the easy target to blame for all of the club’s misfortunes following Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure.
Criticism is one thing, but abuse is quite another, and it’s reasonable to say that some supporters routinely over that line. Jones’ troubles with injuries during his career led many to believe he would never play again, yet he performed impressively.

In the early minutes of the game, Old Trafford erupted in applause for the veteran defender, as it was evident that everyone was relieved to have him fit again.
Of course, he hasn’t been at his peak for quite a long time now, but he has worked hard to earn the trust of Ralf Rangnick, who was impressed by his hard work and determination.
Jones is thought to be eager on securing a loan move this month, and he’s certainly impressed any potential suitors.
