Paul Pogba says it is “a delight” to play with Bruno Fernandes at Manchester United.
The World Cup champ has made an amazing get-back from injury in the previous five weeks, scoring in the much-needed winner over AC Milan and enlisting help against Brighton and Hove Albion, Tottenham, and Granada.
Playing close by Fernandes for United has been a specific rush for Pogba since the Portuguese went along with him at Old Trafford a year ago. Pogba says Fernandes can do everything and is pleased with how their arrangement has created on the pitch.
Pogba said to MUTV: “I enjoy playing with Bruno. He is someone who understands the game and understands the movement that can give you a beautiful pass. He can finish too. He is all over the place, he can do everything really… except defending! But really, it is always a joy to play with him, to understand him. He understands me as well, he can take my position, I can take his position as well. I think he suits the team, he is a very dominant influence in our team.”
No United midfielder has played a greater number of times in all rivalries than Fernandes since the previous Sporting CP playmaker made his introduction, with the 26-year-old showing up.
Pogba (48) positions fourth on that rundown, behind Fred and Scott McTominay (both 58), while he has just begun multiple times, primarily because of wounds.
Pogba and Fernandes are both expected to begin against Burnley, against whom the France star scored a stunner in a 1-0 triumph at Turf Moor the last time the two groups met in January.
