Manchester United suffered a loss at the hands of Arsenal a couple of days ago, with Paul Pogba giving away the penalty for the Gunners. Pogba had a poor start to the season and was then dropped, after which he played a few good cameos to deserve a place back in the starting XI. In his latest talk with ESPN, football expert Frank Leboeuf says that Pogba’s best position is on the bench.
Paul Pogba is surely one of the most criticized players in the Manchester United squad, because of his price tag. The Frenchman has been constantly scapegoated for United’s poor performances. But this time around, Pogba has helped himself, as he gave away a penalty which led to the only goal of the game.
In his recent talk-show, when asked about Pogba’s best position Frank said: “He (Solskjaer) doesn’t know what to do with Pogba. Solskjaer has to rethink his position, maybe the best position for Pogba right now is the bench. It seems to be a real problem. He’s causing problems in the middle of the park where he doesn’t defend.”
Paul Pogba surely needs to get his act right at Manchester United otherwise he could face even more criticism. The midfielder needs to get back to his best at Old Trafford and do things like he used to do towards the end of the last season. Solskjaer will need the World Cup winner to be at his best to have any chance of winning silverware at Old Trafford.
