Manchester United have sold only a couple of players in the summer transfer window, but the club have loaned out a lot of players. The likes of Tahith Chong, Andreas Pereira and Diogo Dalot have all gone on loan to enhance their careers. It has now been reported by ESPN journalist Rob Dawson that Porto are now looking to sign Jesse Lingard on a season-long loan.
The British transfer window has closed on 5th of October, but the Portuguese transfer window is still open till the 25th. Jesse Lingard has been linked to several clubs, including Tottenham, this summer but hasn’t been able to seal a move away from Old Trafford. Lingard hasn’t been part of the matchday squad at United lately and might like to move to get more game-time.
It has been reported that Porto are interested in having Lingard for a season-long loan. With super-agent Mino Raiola working for him, Lingard can surely seal a move for himself if he wants to move from Old Trafford. It will be good for all parties involved if Lingard sealed a move to Porto for a season on-loan.
Manchester United should be happy with Lingard’s move, as it will not just save the club from his wages, but if he gains his confidence back, he could be the Lingard we all know.
